Rebecca Eatwell_2_cropNewgate Communications is pleased to announce that it has promoted Rebecca Eatwell to become Managing Partner and Head of the Newgate Engage practice.  She succeeds Andy Martin, who is leaving the company.

Newgate Engage was founded when prominent local stakeholder engagement and regional PR firm PPS Group rebranded and completed its merger with Newgate at the beginning of April this year.  It is based in offices in London, Bristol, Cardiff, Manchester and Edinburgh.

Rebecca is an experienced and long-standing member of the Engage team, having joined PPS in 2007 after a stint in the Government Office for the North West and in the Equal Opportunities Commission. She is based in the Manchester office.

When Engage was launched Newgate announced that it would invest in these regional offices to allow them to offer the full suite of corporate communications services, including crisis and issues management, corporate reputation, public affairs and financial PR.

Therefore, Rebecca will be supported in her new role by Paul Kelly, a Partner in Newgate who was previously Chief Executive of then-renowned regional agency Harrison Cowley, and then Trimedia.  Paul will bring his substantial experience to bear as Newgate builds out the full range of its services across the regional office network.

Rebecca said: “I am very pleased to have been appointed as Head of Newgate Engage.  Being asked to lead this talented and dedicated team is a massive privilege, and I am relishing the challenge ahead.

“I am particularly looking forward to maintaining the strong reputation of the Engage team in local stakeholder engagement and regional PR, and building on so that so we can deliver the fullest range of corporate communications skills and disciplines right across the UK.”

Gavin Devine, Chief Executive of Newgate, said: “I am absolutely delighted that Rebecca has become the Head of Newgate Engage and the leader of our regional network.  Having worked closely with her in recent months I know that she is a highly skilled, dedicated and determined operator.  Together with Paul she will I know take our already brilliant regional offer to the next level.”
